Short version · north shore and back
- Start at Hubin (湖滨). Use the exact lakeside point shown in a live map or chosen by your hotel. This keeps the route easy to find from the city center.
- Continue toward Broken Bridge (断桥) and Bai Causeway (白堤). These are useful Chinese names to show in a map app or when asking for directions.
- Explore Gushan (孤山), then decide. Return the way you came or check a current local bus, boat, or ride option to shorten the trip.
Longer version · add a causeway
Add Quyuan Fenghe and a section of Su Causeway
From the north shore, continue toward Quyuan Fenghe (曲院风荷) and choose how much of Su Causeway to walk. The route is a one-way scenic walk, not a loop; check where you want to finish and what transport is operating before you start.
Leifeng Pagoda (雷峰塔) is an optional separate attraction near the southern side. It may have its own ticket and opening hours; check the official attraction information before adding it to the plan.
Do not promise yourself the full lake circuit. Stops, crowds, heat, rain, mobility needs, and closures all change the real walking time. This route is a choose-your-own-length outline, not a measured fitness route.
